AllStarLink Nodes

The 220 MHz Good Guys, WM9W, supports one publicly accessible Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) node on the WM9W repeater system to enable worldwide communications via our 220 MHz repeater using AllStarLink.

( node list / more info )

AllStarLink is a very powerful radio linking system and it is also considerably more complex than systems such as IRLP and EchoLink. AllStarLink allows users to initiate connections to multiple nodes simultaneously. This can be useful at times but connecting two or more busy repeater systems together through this type of “party line” can create serious problems. Please be courteous when exploring the system and always remember to clear all of your connections by entering *71.

The 220 MHz Good Guys, WM9W, Hub

AllStarLink Node: 458800

The 220 MHz Good Guys Amateur Radio Club, WM9W, Hub node was created to offer remote stations access to our club’s Chicago-based 220 MHz repeater. The club asks that control stations accessing our repeater’s AllStarLink node not control this node, nor make outgoing connections to remote systems. This means that we also ask users to refrain from using DTMF commands on the club’s AllStarLink node. The club also asks that users NOT connect this node to other linked or otherwise busy repeater systems.

Please be aware that we do monitor our node and actively disconnect or block nodes at our sole discretion.

The 220 MHz Good Guys ARC would also like to acknowledge that there are exceptions to the club’s AllStarLink node guidance listed above, an exception policy that is internationally made available to all of our AllStarLink node users, but only after prior written permission has been granted by the 220 MHz Good Guys Amateur Radio Club. Please contact the 220 MHz Good Guys ARC for further details at membership@wm9w.org.
